Sense of time

November 17, 2008

Cyberspace has it’s own sense of time. There is no just “now” like in real world. The time is stretched from some moment in the past and the moment when you get access to cyberspace.

Does anyone remember one of the first Led Zeppelin TV interview in 1970?

37 years passed and they reunited in 2007.

You can access whole Zeppelin’s lifetime packed in a few clicks. Amazing!

PS It’s kind of digital magic I guess but in 2007 the average age of UK Internet users was 37.9 years.

Cypo

September 6, 2008

Let me introduce you Cypo* an experimental program that can build poems based on some input parameters.

Like any other program Cypo has some restrictions.

First one, Cypo is still crappy poet, but he’s a self-learning program. So the more Cypo writes, the better poetry is. Just give him a bit training.

Second one, Cypo’s poetry heavily based on cyberspace cause of his nature. He will reflects anything that you give him with the terms of cyberspace.

You can ask him to create poem in some mood of your choice. For example, for the “love” mood Cypo generates this:

When I look into your eyes

It’s like communication satellites.

When I’m trying take your hand

It’s like video on demand.

And I start to hear your voice

Like the router makes it’s choice.

When you switching off your cords

I’m just finishing these words.

* when Cypo was developed authors were under influence of Andy Kaufman.

Yes they are.

Every day this content grows and changes so it can be called stream without any reservations.

What is cyberpunk?

July 24, 2008

Wikipedia says it’s “science fiction genre noted for its focus on “high tech and low life.” It’s true but cyberpunk is not just a fiction genre.

I know guys who has most stylish gadgets but wears socks full of holes. Some peoples spending more time taking cares about rusty cars in garage than about self health. Another ones lives in MMO-worlds with their gorgeous avatars but in real world they rarely cleans their teeth.

Cyberpunk became a documentary genre and now it works like a mirror with flashback effect. All the things described twenty years ago became real and widely spreads in nowadays.
